Ellis Ecological Services, Inc. (EES) was founded in 1992 to provide clients with high quality environmental consulting services in the fields of fisheries science, aquatic ecology and watershed management. These same founding objectives guide our company today as we provide the baseline information, detailed analyses and technical reports required in the environmental permitting processes for water-related developments in the Pacific Northwest.
In recent years, Endangered Species Act (ESA) issues associated with federally listed salmon and steelhead have been an important part of our company's focus. A Biological Assessment (BA) that evaluates the impact of proposed developments on listed species is the primary technical report required. EES has successfully prepared over 45 of these assessments during the last ten years. Habitat surveys, fish collection, benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and analyses, water quality monitoring and data acquisition for instream flow (IFIM) studies are examples of field services that we provide in support of BAs and other permitting processes.
EES serves a broad client base including municipalities, private developers, irrigation districts, port authorities, state and county agencies, engineering/architectural firms and other environmental consulting firms. Since inception, EES' goal has been to provide clients with cost-effective, objective, high-quality technical information in the aquatic sciences.
